BIO
I work as a Professor in Educational Psychology at the Graduate School of Education at Nazarbayev University. Earlier in my career, I held research positions at the University College London (UK), Universidade do Minho (Portugal), and the University of Connecticut (USA). I teach graduate courses in quantitative research methodology, educational psychology, and inclusive education. My current research focuses on young populations' mental health and psychological well-being, the role of affect and emotions in learning, and the personal and contextual factors that promote excellence and equity in education contexts. In addition, I enjoy contributing to the design, development, and validation of quantitative data collection tools (e.g., questionnaires) and mapping the research literature using bibliometrics and science visualization approaches. I am also passionate about providing valuable service. From mentoring early career researchers to serving on committees and participating in community outreach programs, I am committed to contributing to the betterment of those around me.
